![]() it isn't like anyone was thinking they could have cashed in on the books popularity, the book is from the 50's, i am sure no one was expecting or necessarily wanting another adaptation of it. The basis for the film starring Academy Award nominee Will Smith, I Am Legend is a classic of horror and suspense. not even on a level of "this character is supposed to be a redhead" or "his house wasn't described like that" but how did they just miss the core plot of the story in general and everything encompassing it? to a point where if they just changed the title and Robert Nevilles name they would have had an entirely different property. Neville has devoted his existence to killing the living vampires: from their perspective, he is the danger, the monster, and the legend. but i just cant wrap my head around how they got everything so wrong. As he faces death from the poison, Neville realizes the truth: although he’s spent the last three years fearing vampires and thinking of them as hideous monsters, he is the monster to them. For anyone that has read Richard Matheson's classic novel, i am sure that my question is pretty obvious with the differences between the novel and the film.
